Who, what when where why and how. Those are the 5 Ws and the how questions that all writers use in an introduction.

Who am I? Allison Flatt, wife and mother, educator, dog mom, daughter, sister, best friend. More than anything else I am a fiction writer. I am a proud Canadian, Roman Catholic and fifty something.

What is this blog about? My journey from unknown writer to published author.

Why start this blog? I have always referred to myself as a writer. However, I had nothing to show for it. Whenever I tell people that I am a writer. I am asked “Oh do you have anything published?” My reply is always “Not yet!”  This has been the story of my life. I enjoy writing and have binders full of handwritten stories from my childhood and young adult hood. As I moved through my 20s, 30s, 40s and now fifties, the desire has always been there. Life always got in the way as it does. Now is the time to work on journey to publishing!

How long will this journey take? Oh, who knows, it could take six months, a year, ten years, or the rest of my life. Even if it takes another 50 years I am up for the challenge. Centenarians are in my blood; my grandmother lived to be one hundred so I figure I have another 50 years to reach my goal. My bags are packed, and I am ready to start my journey on the road to publishing.
